Support - Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. What is PigWatch?

PigWatch is a community-powered platform for reporting and tracking pig sightings. The app helps users document, report, and share information about pig sightings in their area. The app is built with privacy at its core and requires no account creation or personal information.

2. How does PigWatch work?

PigWatch allows you to view recent pig sightings on a map near your location. You can submit anonymous reports of pig sightings, view reports from other community members within a 1-mile radius, and contribute to community awareness. All reports are automatically deleted after 24 hours.

3. Do I need to create an account?

No. PigWatch does not require account creation, login credentials, email addresses, or any form of personal identification. You can use the app completely anonymously.

4. Why does the app need my location?

Location access is required to verify you are within 1 mile of reported sightings, display nearby sightings on the map, and prevent spam and fake reports. Your exact location is NEVER stored on our servers. We only verify proximity at the time of submission and do not retain this information.

5. How long are reports kept?

All sighting reports are automatically deleted 24 hours after submission. This ensures timely community awareness while protecting user privacy. No user data, device information, or usage patterns are retained beyond this period.

6. What information is collected when I submit a report?

When you submit a sighting report, we only collect:

  • The approximate location of the sighting (not your location)
  • Your description of the event
  • Selected categories
  • Optional media URLs

Reports cannot be traced back to you and are automatically deleted after 24 hours.

7. Does PigWatch track me or sell my data?

No. We do not use cookies, analytics, tracking pixels, or any other technologies to monitor your behavior or identify you. We do not sell or share any data with third parties.

8. What should I do if I spot a pig?

If you spot a pig, note the location and time. If it's safe to do so, document the sighting with photos or video. Then, use PigWatch to submit an anonymous report including the date, time, location, and description of the sighting.

9. What data can be requested from PigWatch?

Because we do not collect or store personal information, we cannot provide user data in response to legal requests. There is no data to provide.
